Hosting Tools
There is a vast range of different hosting options for your website all at completely different prices. With hosting options and add-ons from Microsoft, Adobe and open source products there is plethora of products that a potential web designer has to wade through before hosting a site on the Internet. From Apache with PHP and MySQL to IIS, PWS with ASP or .net. The vast array of options is confusing for those who either don’t need it or don’t know what it is, with different operating systems running different add-ons the possibilities confusion is almost endless, that’s where I come in. During my consultancy period with you I will figure out which hosting option would suit your needs and provide you with a reason for my choice, I will then set up the hosting on your behalf and on completion of the site hand the whole package over to you.

Design Tools
Using a vast array of design tools from Adobe, Macromedia, Microsoft, Apple and Real I can bring your static content, audio and video to life on the Internet for you.
With the main design products being Dreamweaver and Photoshop I can call on a vast range of different tools to create the “right” look with the “right” logo or the “right” text.
Video and audio also require knowledge on not just the material but the format and the end users format and viewing capabilities. I can call up a long list of different codec’s to make sure your visitors see what you expect and want them to see when you want them to see it.
Additional design tools include Quicktime, Flash 8, Image Ready, RealProducer, Audacity, Soundforge, GoLive, Frontpage, Homesite, XpressDV Free and even in the odd occasion notepad when it’s required.

Testing & Completion
After the initial design the site must be tested, this process can be almost as long as the design stage and usually involves plenty of little tweaks just to make sure everything’s correct.
Compliance with the W3C will be guaranteed and I will attempt to provide accessibility options for those with screen readers as well as an option for changing font sizes dynamically; conforming to all good web practises.
Testing will be completed on a variety of different browsers such as Firefox, Mozilla, Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator and even some lesser know browsers such as Lynx and Opera to provide maximum compatibility across all operating systems and browsers.
Only then when we are both happy with the final site design will the site be handed over for completion. |
